The Lesnes Abbey Methodist Circuit was created in September 2007 from two previous circuits – the Plumstead and Thamesmead Circuit and the Shooters Hill Circuit. The ruins of Lesnes Abbey are in the middle of our circuit. We are an unusual circuit because of the Thamesmead Ecumenical Parish which means we include within our circuit not only Methodist Churches but also the churches of that Parish which include United Reform Churches, Church of England Churches and, sharing in St Paul’s, the Roman Catholic Church.

Being part of the Church of Jesus Christ is the most amazing, challenging, deepening experience a person can have and we @ Bexley Christian Life Centre believe and know from years of experience that God wants us together WITH each other and not detached and alone on the outside. God has given us all a desire and need to be part of something bigger than just ourselves and it isn’t just so that we can go to football matches.

We are mainstream in Christian values and beliefs but very much 21st Century in relevance and style. Our aim is to make Jesus known to today’s generation by building a community which is open to all – a community which declares God’s truth and works out His hope through our lives together.

Bexleyheath Community Church isn’t just a Sunday meeting. Although we meet together on Sundays to celebrate our faith, it’s much more than that.

We’re not perfect – we have failings and weaknesses like everyone else – but at the heart of the Christian message is the cross of Jesus Christ through which God offers us all forgiveness and a new start. It’s an amazing message that we want to make known to everyone.

Welcome to St. Martin’s Church, Barnehurst! We pride ourselves on our church family, being active and inclusive, and the community associated with it. St. Martin’s is a large red brick building, built in 1936, which is attractive and well maintained. Inside, the church is spacious and light with a woodblock floor and outstanding acoustics. We have individual wooden chairs, seating up to 280, and choir stalls, clergy and readers’ desks and seats made from light oak. St. Martin’s has a healthy and thriving Sunday School which is held during the 10.30am Sunday service. We have a small choir who enable us to enjoy a wide range of music. The Huxtable Hall, built in 1958, stands behind the church next to the 4th Barnehurst Scout group HQ, and is home to many societies, clubs and organisations.

Show on map

Bexleyheath_Trinity_Baptist

Trinity Baptist Church is a loving and caring fellowship where people can discover the Christian faith and grow to spiritual maturity.

Our Sunday morning worship attracts people of all ages. On most Sundays, children and young people leave for their own activities part-way through; a crèche is provided throughout. Refreshments are served after the morning service.

The Point is a smaller and more informal service lasting about an hour with a 20 minute sermon. There is a communion and healing service once a month. On occasions we devote The Point to praise and prayer.

Midweek we meet in cell groups where we aim to relate the Bible to our lives, and encourage and support each other in our faith and in sharing Jesus with others. Alpha courses are run for enquirers.
